More about us

The Iron Works was founded in 1975 and incorporated in 1982. Our family owned and operated stainless fabrication manufacturing company has always specialized in food service equipment. Our "founding father" is President Paul Faaborg, who with three sons and his wife, continues to head our 30-person operation which began in Central Michigan. In May of 1999 we moved operations to Springhill, Louisiana, and in September of 2004 we moved to our current location in Lincolnton, GA.  We're investigating many expansion options, and we're always happy to hear from investors who might like to participate.

This new facility features our manufacturing facility, warehousing and our factory outlet store with a 175% increase in floor space from our Michigan operations. We have been  able to increase our computerized punching capacity by 100% and increase our inventory of finished grills by 200%. This allowed for faster deliveries on shorter lead times.

In a nutshell, we were able to increase our overall revenues from all grill sales by 45.3%. This represents exceptional growth in both our retail and wholesale activities. In addition our factory outlet store exceeded expectations by a growth in revenues of 272%.

As the calendar year draws to a close, we are in the middle of the holiday and gift-giving season. Our continued growth for this quarter is running at 32 % above the corresponding quarter in 1999.

Our small family business added 3000 new grill owners to our this past year. In doing so, our level of personalized customer service has resulted in a 98.9% customer satisfaction level. We continue to enjoy the cooking and recipe exchanges and the wonderful interaction with other backyard cooking enthusiasts.

We began by manufacturing commercial restaurant equipment. We’re proud of the several patents we hold for our commercial range conversions for both griddles and broilers, which we market under the name Rainbow Industries.

In the past few years, we’ve become even more widely known for our "Top Grill" deluxe stainless steel commercial and consumer outdoor patio grills. We began making grills for our restaurant and country club commercial customers. Soon, the "grilling elite" became interested and we made our grills available through dealers and catalogs.

In March 1997 we first presented our grills on the Web. It was a nice experiment. We saw about half a million dollars in sales come in from the Web over the remaining months of 1997, growing to a million and a half in 1998. As impressive as that quantity may be, we were also impressed with the quality of customers we got –like the head radiologist of the Mayo Clinic, the president of Nordstrom’s and the CFO of American Express.
