Mercy Month

Jul06_01.jpg (61645 bytes)We're on our second Mercy Month page, following the vote on which was the sorriest old grill that was replaced by a new Top Grill from the Iron Works.

Our winner was Ellen Green of Los Angles (right) who showed us some space age weaponry attacking her old kettle type grill. That's Jen the Labrador who is showing off her trick of being able to sleep standing up.

Ellen and her husband win a $250 Iron Works shopping spree at the Company Store site.

Old grill, new planter!

Jim Granger of Corte Madera, CA writes, "Well, I did it. I gave my old grill a mercy killing. Not that it needed a lot of killing; it had at least one foot in the grave already. It's now filled with dirt and lies at the bottom of a cement pond at my daughter's school. There it supports water lillies and cattails as part of a biology experiment. Which seems fitting since my wife always considered my red-chilie powder rubbed baby back ribs as a bit of a biology experiment.

"I replaced my old grill with a new Top Grill Compact Grill and I'm very
pleased with it."

Mitch Harper

Mitch Harper of Fort Wayne, IN sends along a photo of his old grill, and writes, "Another grill destined for the dustheap of history."

Enjoy your new Top Grill from The Iron Works, Mitch!

Randy Wright

Randy Wright of Oceanside California prepares a burial for his old grill (left). Randy has been entertaining crowds with his new Top Grill from the Iron Works. He reports, "Thank you for the time you spend on the phone. Your experience in grilling various meats and your willingness to share the secrets to your grill have allowed me to produce results which amazed the crowd. Each of the last three weekends we have utilized the grill for gatherings of 35, 25 and 14 guests and on each event, the comments were amazing.. Turkey, roast beef, pork tenderloin, chickens, filets, burgers, bacon, skewers, taters, tamales, corn, veggies and links.'

Randy poses with his new Top Grill (right) and goes on to say, "Although I claim to be the secret to the outstanding results, my friends all know the food has never been better. If you decide to post the pictures of my old grill, you will know the real truth. I will continue to refer your site to everyone. If they would only use my name, I'm sure a nice gift would arrive from you in the form of a batch of barbecue sauce and business cards...Thanks again for producing a wonderful product which exceeds my expectations."

augustin.jpg (75064 bytes)Here is the picture of my old ProChef Grill (The Homestead) which is about 5 - 6 years old. Original Parts (discontinued) are hard to come by and it's  rusting all to pieces especially the back side along with the grill surface,  and flare guard which I've replaced twice already. Last year, I  riveted in  a piece of sheet metal across the backside just to use it a little longer.

It is time for a new one. I'm looking forward to cooking on your all stainless steel 36" pedestal grill.

ringel.jpg (52963 bytes) Dear Paul:

Since receiving the OCB-24 Top Grill, we have enjoyed the outstanding results. The steaks cook great and the clean up is very easy with the stainless steel. Love the large wheels for moving the grill from deck to patio and the entire grill is very well built. Looking forward to Years of great eating....

Here is a picture of Char Broil going to the dump...

Thanks Again

The old Fogg Grill

Jeremy Fogg writes "Well I like Steve Buschman's Leaning Grill of Lincoln, MA. Hey if you want to see cool old things that lean go to Italy! This photo is my favorite because I have a Sunbeam with the same gravitational challenge."

"Maybe if Steve would point his old Weber the other way it would stand up straight?? Wait I know it's some type of LP gauge, when the grill leans to the right you know the tank is full! Those guys at Weber are always thinking."
