The Iron Works (Stockbridge, MI) now offers a choice of colors in its new for 1998 Designer Series of deluxe gas grills. Beyond six standard color options (red, putty, forest green, black, royal blue, yellow), they can also take custom orders (at an additional fee) to match any color a customer specifies. These Designer Series color grills are available only in 24-inch and 36-inch cooking grate widths. For retail markets, the focus is on the 24-inch OCD-24 ($1,321 – all prices suggested US resale at participating resellers) and 36-inch OCD-36 ($1,709) cart-mounted Designer Series models. Designer Series pedestal-mount OPD-24 ($1,321) and OPD-36 ($1,709) models, build-in OCD-24BI ($1,085) and OCD-36BI ($1,485) models, and Bain Marie equipped BMD-24 ($1,821) and BMD-36 ($2,209) models are also available by special arrangement with the factory.

Like all 1998 models, these also include left and right side shelves, a front spice and bottle rack, all surgical quality stainless steel cooking grates, utensil hooks, and delivery fully assembled. Designer series colors are applied using a commercial grade powder coating over plated steel for decades of durable good looks.
